Termite Control Solutions: We Care Offers Termite Treatment Options

Termite Control and Termite TreatmentWe Care Pest Solutions provides termite control for property owners in Sonoma County, Marin County, and San Francisco County.

No property owner likes to hear that termites have invaded their home or building. But, if you know or even suspect you may need a termite treatment, act quickly to avoid further damage.

Three species of these troublesome insects inhabit the Bay Area: Dampwood, Drywood and Subterranean Termites. Often confused with winged ants, termites can be distinguished because they have thick waists, straight beaded antennae and two sets of wings of the same size.

Regardless of which species you may have, termites feast on wood and can cause extensive, costly damage to your home or business. With average repair costs approaching $10,000, it’s important to take action immediately if you suspect you have termites.

Natural Termite Control with Orange Oil

We Care Pest Solutions specializes in targeted treatments that prevent you from having to fumigate or tent the house. In many cases, we can use XT-2000 Orange Oil Plus® to treat your termites.

This natural solution is highly desirable because you do not have to move out of your house, bag up food and remove plants from your house. We use XT-2000 Orange Oil Plus, also known as D-limonene, an essential oil derived from orange rinds. Orange Oil is a natural pesticide that orange trees produce which is commonly used in cleaning solutions, shampoos and perfumes. This product is a renewable resource and by-product of orange juice manufacturing.

Call our termite control specialists for an inspection and estimate. We provide drywood termite treatment.

First, our certified inspectors will locate any areas of your home that are infested. Then, using a precise, comprehensive drill-and-treat method, we inject XT-2000 Orange Oil into infested walls. From there the oil will spread throughout the wood beams, eliminating termites and termite eggs on contact.

Once the treatment is applied, your home will be left with an orange scent that typically lasts 4 to 5 days. Most people enjoy the orange citrus smell, but please notify us in advance of any citrus allergies.

Altriset: Proven Results with Subterranean Termites

Unlike Drywood Termites, Subterranean Termites build large colonies underground composed of elaborate tunnels and chambers. To reach above-ground wood, a food source, their workers construct protective tunnels of mud and saliva.

We Care treats Subterranean Termites with a product called Altriset®. This product is applied to the soil under and around the perimeter of the foundation. Assuming there is concrete at the perimeter of the foundation, our technicians will drill holes into the concrete. Then we pressure-inject Altriset into the soil beneath the concrete, after which we plug the hole. (Please note the concrete patch dries gray, so it will not match colored, stamped or aggregate concrete.)

Altriset has been proven to be an exceptional termiticide, based on hundreds laboratory and field studies conducted by independent scientists.

Tim-bor Borate Solutions for Direct Application Preventative

We Care uses Tim-bor as a preventative product. It is a direct Drywood termite treatment and is also used for small scale wood-boring beetles.

Tenting and Fumigation

In some cases, it may be necessary to fumigate a structure to reach termites in difficult to access places. For information on this method, please see our Tenting and Fumigation page.

Made primarily of Borate salt compounds, this product is very effective for coating exposed wood to prevent infestations for up to 20 years. Another benefit is that it is also extremely low in toxicity. When mixed into a water solution, Tim-bor is then sprayed over exposed wood not subject external conditions. Examples include attics, sub-areas, garages, etc.
